Equivalent to 6906-2RS
The SKF 61906-2RS1 sealed thin-section deep groove ball bearing is designed for rotary equipment where a 30mm bore must be accommodated without the greater outside diameter of a standard bearing series. Its 619 series geometry provides a practical balance between compact dimensions and load-carrying capability. Unlike the narrower 61806 series, the 61906 offers additional bearing cross-section for applications requiring greater load capacity. Its single row ball construction accommodates radial loads and moderate axial forces in either direction, within the manufacturer's limits. SKF catalogue specifications include a basic dynamic load rating of 7.28kN, a basic static load rating of 4.55kN and a limiting speed of 8,500rpm.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals retain factory grease and help prevent dust, moisture and debris from reaching the rolling elements. This makes the bearing suitable for enclosed equipment where frequent relubrication is difficult. Contact seals create more running resistance than open or non-contact sealed bearings, so continuous operating speed and temperature should be considered during selection. Normal radial internal clearance requires appropriately specified shaft and housing fits, particularly where interference fitting or thermal expansion could reduce operating clearance. Accurate alignment and correct mounting pressure are also important for protecting the relatively thin bearing rings. When replacing an existing bearing, confirm both its dimensions and full sealing designation.
