The SKF 6306-2RS1 sealed deep groove ball bearing is intended for rotating equipment where shaft loads justify a more substantial bearing cross-section. With a 30mm bore, its 63 series design provides a larger outside diameter and width than the corresponding 6206, giving engineers a higher-capacity option where the housing dimensions permit. The single row deep groove raceways accommodate predominantly radial loads together with moderate axial forces acting in either direction, subject to the bearing's rated limits. SKF specifications list a basic dynamic load rating of 29.6kN and a basic static load rating of 16kN. These values help determine fatigue life, assess peak loading and select a suitable bearing for equipment operating under changing mechanical loads.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals retain the factory grease and help prevent dust, dirt and moisture from entering the raceways. This protected arrangement is particularly useful in motors, pumps and drive mechanisms where access for relubrication is limited. SKF lists a limiting speed of 6,300rpm for the contact-sealed bearing; continuous operation must also account for heat generated by seal friction, applied load and temperature. The normal (CN) radial internal clearance differs from that of the 6306-2RS1/C3, which has increased clearance. Correct shaft and housing fits are therefore important, particularly when interference fitting or thermal expansion affects the installed clearance. During replacement, confirm the full designation rather than selecting by dimensions alone.
