The SKF 62206-2RS1/C3 wide sealed deep groove ball bearing combines a 30mm bore and 62mm outside diameter with a 20mm axial width. Compared with the conventional 6206 bearing, which measures 30 x 62 x 16mm, the additional 4mm requires a housing and shaft arrangement designed to accommodate the wider bearing. Its single row deep groove construction supports predominantly radial loads alongside axial forces in either direction, within the bearing's rated limits. The basic dynamic load rating is 19.5kN, while the basic static load rating is 11.2kN. The wider geometry should not be treated as evidence of greater load capacity; the published ratings and actual operating conditions must guide selection.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals protect both sides of the raceways, retaining factory-applied grease while helping restrict dust, dirt and moisture. The C3 suffix specifies greater-than-normal radial internal clearance, allowing additional clearance before installation where tight shaft fits or temperature differences between the inner and outer rings are expected to reduce it. C3 does not mean a higher precision grade, and it should not automatically replace a normal-clearance bearing without checking the application. SKF product data gives a limiting speed of 7,500rpm, subject to practical restrictions from seal friction, load and operating temperature. A pressed steel cage completes the construction. For replacement, confirm both the 20mm width and C3 clearance designation, as the standard 62206-2RS1 shares the dimensions but not the specified clearance.
Typical Applications:
Industrial electric motors with specified C3 bearing clearance
Conveyor drive shafts designed for 20mm-wide bearings
Compact industrial transmission and drive assemblies
Machinery with interference-fitted bearing inner rings
Enclosed rotating equipment subject to shaft heating
