The SKF 6315-2Z/C3 double-shielded deep groove ball bearing is engineered for rotating assemblies requiring substantial radial load support on a 75mm shaft. Its 160mm outside diameter and 37mm width provide a robust bearing cross-section for industrial motors, transmission systems and machinery operating under sustained mechanical loads. The single row deep groove raceways accommodate predominantly radial loading together with axial forces acting in either direction, subject to the bearing's rated capacity. SKF product specifications give a basic dynamic load rating of 119kN and a basic static load rating of 76.5kN, making these essential reference values when calculating fatigue life and assessing operating loads.
The 2Z designation identifies non-contact metal shields on both sides of the bearing. Unlike rubber contact seals, these shields offer lower friction while helping retain lubricant and restrict larger contaminants; they are not intended to provide watertight protection. SKF lists a limiting speed of 4,500rpm for this shielded configuration, although operating limits must also account for lubrication, temperature and load. The C3 clearance provides greater initial radial internal clearance than a normal-clearance 6315, which can be beneficial where interference fits or elevated temperatures reduce clearance in service. However, C3 is not automatically suitable for every application. Correct selection depends on the shaft and housing fits, operating conditions and equipment manufacturer's requirements. During installation, apply mounting force to the ring being fitted to avoid transmitting force through the rolling elements.

Industrial centrifugal pumps and pumping equipment
Heavy-duty fans and ventilation machinery
Mechanical power transmission and gearbox assemblies
