The SKF 62206-2RS1 sealed wide-series deep groove ball bearing is intended for industrial equipment requiring a 20mm bearing width alongside a 30mm bore and 62mm outside diameter. Unlike the standard 6206-2RS1, which measures 16mm wide, this version provides a wider mounting profile without increasing the shaft or housing diameter. Its single row deep groove design supports predominantly radial loads together with limited axial loads in either direction. SKF specifies a basic dynamic load rating of 19.5kN and a basic static load rating of 11.2kN, so the additional width should not be mistaken for increased load capacity. Bearing selection must account for the published ratings and actual operating conditions.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals provide protection on both sides, retaining the factory grease and helping prevent airborne dirt and moisture from reaching the raceways. This arrangement is useful in enclosed transmission equipment and conveyor mechanisms where frequent lubrication access is inconvenient. SKF lists a limiting speed of 7,500rpm and a bearing mass of approximately 0.25kg. Continuous operating speed must also consider load, temperature and friction from the contacting seals. Normal radial internal clearance requires suitable shaft and housing tolerances to maintain the correct clearance after mounting. When replacing an existing bearing, verify the full 62206 designation: a standard 6206 bearing shares the same bore and outside diameter but is not a direct dimensional replacement because of its narrower width.
Typical Applications:
Industrial conveyor rollers and drive mechanisms
Wide-bearing shaft support assemblies
Enclosed mechanical power transmission equipment
Industrial fans and ventilation machinery
Specialised equipment with 20mm bearing housings
