SKF 6005 Open Deep Groove Ball Bearing
The SKF 6005 is an open single row deep groove ball bearing designed for efficient shaft support in compact rotating assemblies. It accommodates radial loads and axial loads in both directions while maintaining low friction. Its normal radial internal clearance makes it suitable for machinery where standard clearance is specified.
Design and Construction
The SKF 6005 features a single row of steel balls running between deep raceway grooves. A sheet metal cage separates and guides the rolling elements during rotation.
Its bearing steel construction provides strength and effective load support. With dimensions of 25x47x12mm, it offers a slimmer arrangement than the 6205 and 6305 bearing series while retaining the same 25mm bore.
Open Design and Internal Clearance
The bearing features an open design without seals or shields. This allows grease or oil to reach the rolling elements directly and makes it suitable for machinery with an appropriate lubrication system.
It has normal radial internal clearance for applications where standard clearance is required. External sealing may be necessary to protect the bearing against contamination and lubricant loss.
