The SKF 627-2RSH/C3 sealed miniature deep groove ball bearing provides radial shaft support in small rotating assemblies where dimensional accuracy and internal clearance are important. Its 7mm bore, 22mm outside diameter and 7mm width make it suitable for compact bearing seats, while the single row deep groove raceways accommodate radial loads together with axial loads in either direction, within the bearing's rated capacity. SKF specifications give a basic dynamic load rating of 3.45kN and a basic static load rating of 1.37kN. The C3 radial internal clearance is greater than normal (CN) clearance before mounting, allowing designers to account for clearance reductions caused by interference fits and temperature differences between the shaft and housing. C3 should nevertheless be selected according to the equipment specification rather than assumed to be preferable in every application.
The 2RSH contact seals are fitted on both sides to help retain factory-applied grease and reduce contamination from dust, moisture and debris. They provide useful protection where routine relubrication is difficult, although contact sealing produces more friction than an open bearing arrangement. SKF lists a limiting speed of 22,000rpm for this configuration; permissible continuous speed also depends on applied load, temperature and lubrication conditions. The bearing uses a sheet metal cage and weighs approximately 12g. When replacing an existing bearing, confirm both the 2RSH seal designation and C3 clearance suffix, as the normal-clearance 627-2RSH shares the same principal dimensions but is not necessarily an appropriate substitute. During installation, support the ring being fitted to avoid transmitting mounting force through the rolling elements.
Typical Applications:
Compact electric motor shaft assemblies
Miniature mechanical transmission and pulley systems
Small industrial fans and ventilation mechanisms
Automated positioning and guide roller equipment
Specialised machinery requiring C3 clearance in a 7mm bore bearing
