The SKF 6014-2Z double-shielded deep groove ball bearing is designed for machinery where a 70mm shaft requires dependable rotational support without the larger housing dimensions of a heavier bearing series. Its 70mm bore, 110mm outside diameter and 20mm width make it a useful choice for installations with limited radial and axial space. The single row deep groove raceways accommodate primarily radial loads together with axial loads acting in either direction, within the bearing's rated capacity. SKF specifications give a basic dynamic load rating of 39.7kN and a basic static load rating of 31kN. These figures support bearing-life calculations and help engineers assess suitability for continuous industrial service.
The 2Z designation identifies steel shields fitted on both sides of the bearing. Unlike rubber contact seals, these shields do not rub against the inner ring, helping reduce friction and heat generation at higher rotational speeds. They retain factory-applied grease and offer protection against larger particles, although they provide less resistance to water and fine contaminants than contact-sealed alternatives. SKF lists a 13,000rpm reference speed and a 6,300rpm limiting speed for this configuration; operating conditions must remain within the applicable speed and temperature limits. Normal (CN) radial internal clearance should also be distinguished from the increased clearance of the 6014-2Z/C3. When replacing a bearing, confirm the full designation, clearance and shielding arrangement as well as its dimensions.
Typical Applications:
