The SKF 607-2Z/C3 shielded deep groove ball bearing combines a 7mm bore, 19mm outside diameter and 6mm width for compact shaft arrangements requiring reliable, low-friction rotation. Its single row deep groove construction supports radial loads and axial forces in either direction within the bearing's rated limits. SKF specifies a basic dynamic load rating of 2.34kN and a basic static load rating of 0.95kN, providing useful reference values for assessing fatigue life and operating loads. As an SKF Explorer bearing, it is designed for dependable performance in miniature mechanical assemblies. The 607 designation identifies the bearing dimensions, while the suffixes specify its shield configuration and increased internal clearance.
The 2Z suffix denotes metal shields on both sides. Unlike contacting rubber seals, these non-contact shields minimise additional sealing friction while helping retain the factory-applied grease and restrict larger contaminants. They are particularly useful for high-speed mechanisms operating in relatively clean environments, but provide less protection against water and fine contamination than contact seals. SKF lists a limiting speed of 43,000rpm for the 607-2Z/C3. The C3 clearance is greater than normal radial internal clearance, helping accommodate clearance reduction from interference fits and thermal expansion where appropriate. It should not be treated as automatically interchangeable with a normal-clearance 607-2Z. Check the original equipment's clearance requirement, shaft fit and housing fit before replacement, and avoid applying mounting force through the rolling elements.
