The SKF 61802-2RS1 sealed thin section deep groove ball bearing provides compact rotational support for equipment where housing diameter and axial width must be kept to a minimum. Its ultra-slim 618 series construction occupies substantially less space than standard 6002 or 6202 bearings with the same bore, making it useful when equipment dimensions take priority over high load capacity. The single row ball arrangement supports predominantly radial loads and limited axial forces in either direction. SKF specifies a basic dynamic load rating of 1.9kN, a basic static load rating of 1.1kN and a limiting speed of 17,000rpm. These values underline the importance of checking actual loads, particularly in assemblies exposed to shock, belt tension or repeated acceleration.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals retain factory grease and help restrict dust and moisture from reaching the rolling elements. This protected lubrication arrangement is valuable in miniature mechanisms that lack space for separate greasing facilities. Contact sealing introduces friction compared with an open bearing, so operating temperature and rotational speed should be assessed together. Normal radial internal clearance also makes mounting accuracy particularly important. With exceptionally thin rings, excessive interference fits or distortion from an uneven housing can affect internal clearance and running performance. The bearing should therefore be installed using correctly machined seating surfaces and mounting forces applied to the appropriate ring.
Typical Applications:
Miniature rotary positioning mechanisms
Compact automation and actuator assemblies
Precision measuring and inspection instruments
Lightly loaded miniature drive shafts
Small mechanisms with ultra-narrow bearing housings
