Equivalent to 6912-2RS
The SKF 61912-2RS1 thin-section deep groove ball bearing is engineered for rotating shafts where reducing the outside diameter and width of the bearing arrangement is a design priority. Its 619 series geometry provides more radial section than the extra-slim 61812 while remaining smaller than the corresponding 6012 bearing. This allows engineers to balance housing dimensions against operating loads rather than simply choosing the smallest available bearing. The single row deep groove construction accommodates radial loads and axial forces in either direction within its rated limits. SKF specifies a basic dynamic load rating of 16.5kN and a basic static load rating of 12kN, making load verification essential before installation in continuously running machinery.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals on both sides retain the factory grease and help prevent airborne dirt, moisture and other contaminants from entering the bearing. This is particularly useful in compact equipment where relubrication access is restricted. SKF lists a limiting speed of 4,500rpm for the contact-sealed version, so operating temperature and seal friction should be considered in higher-speed applications. The bearing has normal radial internal clearance; interference fits or temperature differences can alter the clearance remaining after mounting. Its relatively narrow rings also require even housing support and carefully applied installation forces. For replacement purposes, confirm the complete designation, dimensions and clearance rather than relying on the 60mm bore alone.
Typical Applications:
Compact rotary positioning equipment
Industrial automation and indexing mechanisms
Space-restricted shaft support assemblies
Enclosed light-duty mechanical drives
Specialised pumps and rotary machinery with narrow housings
