The SKF 62202-2RS1 wide-series sealed deep groove ball bearing is intended for rotating assemblies that need a 14mm-wide bearing without increasing the shaft diameter or radial housing envelope. Its principal distinction from the standard 6202 is axial width: both have a 15mm bore and 35mm outside diameter, but the conventional 6202 measures only 11mm wide. This difference matters when positioning housing shoulders, spacers and retaining components. The single row ball arrangement carries radial loads and accommodates axial forces in either direction within its design limits. SKF's published basic dynamic load rating is 7.8kN, with a basic static rating of 3.75kN. The wider profile should not be assumed to provide greater load capacity without checking these values.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals provide protection on both faces, retaining the grease fill and limiting the entry of dust, dirt and moisture. This can simplify maintenance in covered rollers and enclosed mechanical systems where regular lubrication access is inconvenient. SKF lists a limiting speed of 13,000rpm for this configuration, although operating temperature, load and contact seal friction influence the permissible running conditions. Normal (CN) radial internal clearance means mounting fits and thermal expansion must be considered to preserve suitable clearance in service. When replacing an existing bearing, check the complete part number: a standard 6202 is narrower, while a C3 version has different internal clearance requirements.
