The SKF 62207-2RS1/C3 wide sealed deep groove ball bearing combines a 35mm bore and 72mm outside diameter with a 23mm axial width. This makes it 6mm wider than the standard 6207, an important distinction for shaft shoulders, spacers and housing retainers. The single row deep groove construction supports radial loads and axial forces in either direction within its rated limits. SKF specifies a basic dynamic load rating of 25.5kN and a basic static load rating of 15.3kN. Its wider profile should not be interpreted as an automatic increase in load capacity over a standard 6207; the actual bearing ratings and available mounting space must be checked when selecting a replacement.
The defining feature of this version is its C3 radial internal clearance, which is greater than normal (CN) clearance before mounting. This can help accommodate reductions in internal clearance caused by interference fits and temperature differences between the inner and outer rings. However, C3 is not universally preferable: the correct clearance depends on the operating conditions and equipment manufacturer's requirements. The 2RS1 rubber contact seals retain factory grease and help exclude dust, dirt and moisture, making the bearing useful where relubrication access is limited. SKF lists a limiting speed of 6,300rpm for this contact-sealed version. A sheet metal cage completes the construction. Always confirm the full 62207-2RS1/C3 designation, as the normal-clearance 62207-2RS1 is not necessarily an appropriate substitute.
Typical Applications:
