The SKF 6307-2RS1 sealed deep groove ball bearing is designed for rotating machinery where a 35mm shaft requires substantial radial load support within a conventional bearing housing. Its deeper 63 series cross-section makes it a higher-capacity alternative to the smaller 6207, although the additional outside diameter and width must be accommodated by the equipment. The single row deep groove geometry also supports axial forces acting in either direction, subject to the bearing's rated limits. SKF Explorer specifications give a basic dynamic load rating of 35.1kN and a basic static load rating of 19kN. These figures provide useful engineering references when evaluating operating loads, fatigue life and replacement suitability.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals retain factory-applied grease and restrict the ingress of dust, moisture and other contaminants. This construction is advantageous in pump housings, motor assemblies and mechanical drives where frequent relubrication is inconvenient. SKF publishes a limiting speed of 6,000rpm for this sealed configuration, although the appropriate continuous operating speed depends on loading, temperature and seal friction. The bearing has normal radial internal clearance rather than the increased clearance of the 6307-2RS1/C3 variant. Shaft fits, housing tolerances and thermal conditions must therefore be considered during installation. For replacement work, confirm the complete bearing designation and apply mounting forces directly to the ring being fitted, avoiding load transmission through the balls.
