The SKF 6016-2RS1 sealed deep groove ball bearing is designed for rotating machinery where an 80mm shaft must be supported without unnecessarily increasing housing dimensions. Its single row design carries radial loads and accommodates moderate axial forces in either direction, making it useful in a variety of industrial drive arrangements. The SKF Explorer bearing has a basic dynamic load rating of 49.4kN and a basic static load rating of 40kN, providing reference values for bearing selection and service-life calculations. Its relatively narrow 60 series construction can offer a more compact alternative to 62 or 63 series bearings when the operating loads permit.
The 2RS1 contact seals protect both sides of the bearing and retain its factory grease, reducing the need for routine relubrication in equipment with limited maintenance access. SKF specifies a limiting speed of 3,200rpm for this sealed version. Because contact seals create additional friction compared with an open bearing, operating temperature and rotational speed should be assessed together. Normal radial internal clearance is supplied as standard; engineers should check shaft and housing fits, thermal expansion and the required operating clearance before selecting this version rather than a C3 bearing.
Typical Applications:
Industrial electric motor assemblies
Centrifugal pumps and process equipment
Industrial fans and ventilation systems
Conveyor drives and pulley shafts
Mechanical power transmission equipment
