The SKF 6310-2RS1 sealed deep groove ball bearing provides substantial radial load capacity for rotating equipment with a 50mm shaft diameter. Its 110mm outside diameter and 27mm width give it a larger bearing cross-section than the corresponding 6210 series, which measures 50 x 90 x 20mm. This makes the 6310 suitable where higher loads justify the additional housing space. The single row deep groove raceways support predominantly radial loading together with axial forces in either direction, within the bearing's operating limits. SKF specifications give a basic dynamic load rating of 65kN and a basic static load rating of 38kN. These figures support bearing-life calculations and help assess suitability for industrial drives subject to continuous loads, starts and stops, or changing operating conditions.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals retain factory-applied grease and help restrict the entry of dust, dirt and moisture. This protective arrangement is particularly valuable where machinery operates in contaminated environments or access for relubrication is limited. SKF specifies a limiting speed of 4,300rpm for the sealed configuration; continuous operating suitability must also account for load, temperature, lubrication and contact seal friction. The bearing has normal (CN) radial internal clearance, which differs from the increased clearance of the 6310-2RS1/C3. Interference fits and operating temperature can reduce internal clearance, so the correct version should be selected according to the equipment manufacturer's requirements. When replacing a bearing, verify the complete designation, housing dimensions and sealing arrangement before installation.
