The SKF 6006-2RS1/C3 sealed deep groove ball bearing combines the compact dimensions of the 60 series with greater-than-normal radial internal clearance. Its 30mm bore, 55mm outside diameter and 13mm width make it suitable for machinery where the larger cross-section of a 6206 bearing cannot be accommodated. The single row deep groove design supports predominantly radial loads and axial forces in either direction within its operating limits. SKF specifies a basic dynamic load rating of 13.8kN and a basic static load rating of 8.3kN. The C3 clearance is a key selection characteristic: it provides more internal clearance before mounting than the normal-clearance version, helping accommodate clearance reductions caused by interference fits and differential thermal expansion. C3 does not automatically make the bearing suitable for every high-temperature or high-speed application.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals protect both sides of the bearing, retaining factory-applied grease and helping restrict the entry of moisture, dust and other contaminants. This reduces routine lubrication requirements in enclosed equipment, although the bearing's service life still depends on operating conditions. SKF lists a limiting speed of 8,000rpm, subject to load, temperature, lubrication and seal-friction considerations. Its SKF Explorer construction and sheet metal cage make it appropriate for a range of industrial rotating assemblies. When replacing an existing bearing, check the complete 6006-2RS1/C3 designation, as the normal-clearance 6006-2RS1 has the same dimensions but different internal clearance. Correct mounting practices are also essential: fitting forces should pass through the ring being installed, never through the rolling elements.
Typical Applications:
Industrial electric motors requiring C3 internal clearance
Ventilation fans and air-handling equipment
Centrifugal pump and circulation shaft assemblies
Compact conveyor and mechanical drive systems
Industrial transmission and auxiliary rotating equipment
