The SKF 62201-2RS1/C3 sealed deep groove ball bearing combines a compact 12mm bore and 32mm outside diameter with an extended 14mm axial width. Compared with the standard 6201 bearing, which measures 12 x 32 x 10mm, the additional width must be accounted for when checking shaft shoulders, spacers and housing recesses. Its single row deep groove raceways accommodate predominantly radial loads together with axial loads in either direction, within the bearing's rated capacity. SKF's published specifications identify a basic dynamic load rating of 7.28kN and a basic static load rating of 3.1kN. These values provide a basis for assessing bearing life and loading in compact rotating equipment.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals retain grease and help prevent dirt, dust and moisture entering the bearing, making this configuration suitable for installations with limited relubrication access. The C3 suffix specifies greater-than-normal radial internal clearance, an important consideration where interference fits or temperature differences between the shaft and housing reduce operating clearance. C3 does not automatically make the bearing suitable for every high-speed or high-temperature application; the installed clearance and operating conditions must be assessed. The published limiting speed is 15,000rpm, subject to the effects of load, temperature and seal friction. The bearing incorporates a sheet metal cage and bearing-steel rings. For replacement work, confirm the complete 62201-2RS1/C3 designation, as the normal-clearance 62201-2RS1 has the same dimensions but a different internal clearance specification.
Typical Applications:
Compact electric motors requiring C3 clearance
Small conveyor drive and roller assemblies
Industrial automation and handling equipment
Compact pulley and mechanical transmission systems
Enclosed shaft assemblies with 14mm-wide bearing seats
