SKF 6009 Open Deep Groove Ball Bearing
The SKF 6009 is an open single row deep groove ball bearing designed for smooth rotation and effective support of rotating shafts. It accommodates radial loads and axial loads in both directions while maintaining low friction. Its slim profile makes it a practical choice for equipment requiring the standard 6009 bearing dimensions and normal internal clearance.
Design and Construction
The SKF 6009 features a single row of steel balls running between deep raceway grooves. A stamped steel cage separates and guides the rolling elements during rotation.
Its bearing steel construction provides strength and effective load support under suitable operating conditions. With dimensions of 45x75x16mm, it offers a smaller outside diameter and narrower profile than the 6209 series while retaining the same 45mm bore.
Open Design and Internal Clearance
The bearing features an open design without seals or shields. This allows grease or oil to reach the rolling elements directly, making it suitable for machinery with an appropriate lubrication system.
It has normal radial internal clearance for applications where standard clearance is specified. Suitable external sealing may be necessary to protect the bearing from contamination and lubricant loss.
