The SKF 6013-2Z double shielded deep groove ball bearing combines a 65mm bore with a 100mm outside diameter and an 18mm width, making it a suitable choice where a larger shaft must be supported within a relatively narrow bearing envelope. Its single row deep groove raceways accommodate predominantly radial loads alongside axial forces acting in either direction, within the bearing's rated limits. SKF specifies a basic dynamic load rating of 31.9kN and a basic static load rating of 25kN, providing useful figures for evaluating fatigue life and peak loading. Compared with the heavier 6213 series, the 6013 has a smaller outside diameter and narrower cross-section, making it particularly relevant when available housing space is restricted.
The 2Z designation identifies a metal shield on each side of the bearing. Unlike the contacting rubber seals fitted to a 6013-2RS1, these shields do not rub against the rotating inner ring, helping minimise sealing friction and associated heat generation. They retain factory grease and provide protection against larger dirt particles, but offer less resistance to fine dust, splashing water and liquid contamination than contact seals. SKF lists a 14,000rpm reference speed and a 7,000rpm limiting speed for the 6013-2Z; actual operating suitability depends on lubrication, temperature, loading and mounting conditions. The bearing uses normal (CN) radial internal clearance, so the 6013-2Z/C3 should not automatically be treated as an interchangeable replacement. Confirm shaft fits, housing dimensions and operating conditions before installation.

Industrial electric motors and drive assemblies
Ventilation fans and air handling equipment
Centrifugal pumps in relatively clean environments
Industrial gearboxes and transmission shafts
