The SKF 6206-2RS1 sealed deep groove ball bearing provides rotational support for machinery using a 30mm shaft where radial loading, installation dimensions and operational reliability must be balanced. Its single row ball and raceway construction accommodates predominantly radial loads alongside moderate axial forces in either direction. SKF Explorer specifications include a basic dynamic load rating of 20.3kN and a basic static load rating of 11.2kN, providing engineering reference values for evaluating bearing life and load suitability. Compared with the narrower 6006 series, the 6206 offers a larger bearing cross-section and increased load capacity, making it suitable for compact equipment where the operating loads justify the additional housing space.
The 2RS1 double rubber contact seals retain factory grease and help protect the rolling elements from dust, dirt and moisture. This sealed arrangement is particularly useful in motor end shields, pump assemblies and enclosed drive systems where routine relubrication is difficult. SKF's published limiting speed is 7,500rpm, although continuous operating suitability also depends on loading, temperature and seal friction. Normal radial internal clearance should be checked against shaft interference fits, housing tolerances and thermal expansion before installation. The 6206-2RS1 is not automatically interchangeable with a C3 clearance version, particularly in electric motors where the equipment manufacturer specifies increased operating clearance.
Typical Applications:
Industrial electric motors and drive units
Centrifugal pumps and circulation equipment
Industrial ventilation fans and blowers
Conveyor drive and pulley shaft assemblies
