Equivalent to 6916-2RS
The SKF 61916-2RS1 sealed thin-section deep groove ball bearing is intended for 80mm rotating shafts where housing diameter, installation width and bearing capacity must be carefully balanced. Its 619 series geometry offers a more substantial bearing section than the exceptionally slim 61816, while remaining considerably smaller than conventional 6016 or 6216 arrangements. The single row ball and raceway design carries radial loads and accommodates axial forces in either direction within its rated limits. SKF specifies a basic dynamic load rating of 25.1kN and a basic static load rating of 20.4kN. These figures provide a basis for assessing service life and load suitability, particularly when machinery is subject to continuous rotation or changing shaft loads.
The 2RS1 double rubber contact seals retain factory grease and help restrict the entry of dust, dirt and moisture. This makes the bearing useful in enclosed rotary equipment where routine relubrication is impractical. SKF specifies a limiting speed of 3,400rpm for this sealed configuration, although actual operating suitability also depends on load, temperature and seal friction. Normal radial internal clearance requires appropriate shaft and housing fits, particularly where interference mounting or thermal expansion could reduce the remaining clearance. The relatively slender rings also benefit from uniform housing support and correctly applied mounting forces. For replacement work, the full designation should be matched rather than selecting another 80mm bore bearing with different dimensions or sealing.
Typical Applications:
Compact industrial motor and drive assemblies
Large-diameter rotary positioning mechanisms
Specialised automation and indexing equipment
Industrial fans and enclosed rotating machinery
Space-restricted mechanical transmission systems
