The SKF 62303-2RS1/C3 wide sealed deep groove ball bearing combines an extended axial profile with greater-than-normal radial internal clearance. Its 17mm bore and 47mm outside diameter match the standard 6303 series, but the 19mm width provides an additional 5mm of axial section. This difference is important when checking housing recesses, shaft shoulders, spacers and retaining components. The single row deep groove raceways accommodate radial loads together with axial forces in either direction, within the bearing's rated capacity. SKF specifications list a basic dynamic load rating of 13.5kN and a basic static load rating of 6.55kN. The increased width and C3 clearance should not be interpreted as an automatic increase in load capacity.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals retain factory-applied grease and help prevent dust, moisture and debris from reaching the rolling elements. The C3 suffix specifies greater radial internal clearance than normal (CN), which can be advantageous where interference fits or thermal differences between the inner and outer rings reduce clearance during service. However, C3 is not universally preferable: the correct clearance depends on the intended operating conditions and machinery manufacturer's requirements. SKF lists a limiting speed of 11,000rpm for this sealed bearing, subject to operating load, temperature and seal friction. The bearing uses a sheet steel cage and has an approximate mass of 0.15kg. For replacement work, confirm the complete designation, including both the 2RS1 sealing arrangement and /C3 clearance suffix.
Typical Applications:
Electric motor assemblies specified for C3 clearance
Industrial conveyor and drive shaft mechanisms
Enclosed mechanical transmission equipment
Agricultural machinery and rotating drive components
