The SKF 6211-2RS1 sealed deep groove ball bearing provides rotational support for industrial equipment operating with a 55mm shaft and moderate to substantial radial loading. Its SKF Explorer design incorporates a single row of balls running in deep raceway grooves, enabling the bearing to accommodate radial loads alongside axial forces in either direction, subject to operating limits. Compared with the slimmer 6011 series, the 6211 provides greater load-carrying capacity while requiring less housing space than the larger 6311 series. SKF specifies a basic dynamic load rating of 46.2kN and a basic static load rating of 29kN, providing essential reference values for calculating bearing life, evaluating loading conditions and selecting suitable replacement components.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals protect both sides of the bearing, retaining factory-applied grease and helping prevent dust, moisture and other contaminants from reaching the rolling elements. This arrangement is useful in enclosed electric motors, pump assemblies and industrial drives where routine relubrication access may be restricted. SKF specifies a limiting speed of 4,300rpm for this configuration, although operating temperature, load and contact seal friction must also be considered when determining continuous running conditions. The bearing features normal (CN) radial internal clearance rather than the increased clearance of a 6211-2RS1/C3. Appropriate shaft tolerances, housing fits and mounting procedures are therefore essential to maintain sufficient operating clearance and avoid premature bearing damage.
