The SKF 6314-2RS1 sealed deep groove ball bearing is designed for substantial rotating assemblies requiring a 70mm bore and dependable support under industrial loading. Its 150mm outside diameter and 35mm width distinguish it from the smaller 6214 series, making it appropriate where additional load capacity justifies a larger bearing housing. The single row deep groove raceways support predominantly radial forces and accommodate axial loads in both directions within the bearing's rated limits. SKF specifies a basic dynamic load rating of 111kN and a basic static load rating of 68kN. These figures provide an important basis for bearing-life calculations and assessments of operating loads, particularly in machinery subjected to continuous running or repeated starts.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals protect both sides of the bearing, retaining factory-applied grease and reducing the entry of dirt, moisture and abrasive particles. This arrangement is advantageous in heavy machinery where relubrication access may be limited. The SKF 6314-2RS1 has a published limiting speed of 3,000rpm, although sustained operating conditions must also consider load, temperature and friction from the contacting seals. Its normal (CN) radial internal clearance must be distinguished from C3 variants, particularly where tight shaft fits or thermal expansion may reduce running clearance. The bearing uses a sheet metal cage and SKF Explorer construction. Before installation, verify the complete designation, mating dimensions and required clearance, and apply mounting force to the ring being fitted rather than through the rolling elements.
