The SKF 6022-2RS1/C3 sealed deep groove ball bearing provides a practical combination of load capacity and relatively compact radial dimensions for large rotating shafts. With a 110mm bore, 170mm outside diameter and 28mm width, its 60 series geometry occupies less radial space than the corresponding 6222 bearing, which requires a 200mm housing bore. The single row deep groove raceways accommodate predominantly radial loads together with axial forces acting in either direction, within the bearing's rated limits. SKF specifies a basic dynamic load rating of 85.2kN and a basic static load rating of 73.5kN. These figures support bearing-life calculations and assessments of machinery exposed to changing or sustained operating loads.
A defining feature of the 6022-2RS1/C3 is its greater-than-normal radial internal clearance. The C3 designation provides additional initial clearance to compensate for reductions caused by interference fits and temperature differences between the inner and outer rings. It should therefore be selected according to the equipment manufacturer's requirements rather than assumed to be interchangeable with a normal-clearance bearing. The 2RS1 rubber contact seals retain factory-applied grease and restrict the entry of dust, moisture and other contaminants. SKF lists a limiting speed of 2,400rpm for this contact-sealed configuration. The bearing also features a sheet metal cage and has an approximate mass of 1.97kg. For reliable installation, verify shaft and housing tolerances, operating temperature and the full bearing designation before mounting.
