The SKF 62202-2RS1/C3 sealed deep groove ball bearing combines the 15mm bore and 35mm outside diameter of a conventional 6202 with an extended 14mm axial width. This wider profile is important when replacing bearings in assemblies with specific shaft shoulders, spacers or retaining components. Its single row deep groove raceways support predominantly radial loading together with axial forces in either direction, within the bearing's rated limits. The basic dynamic load rating is 7.8kN, with a basic static load rating of 3.75kN. The extra width should not be interpreted as automatically providing a higher load rating. Instead, bearing selection should account for the actual applied loads, rotational speed and available installation space.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals help retain factory-applied grease and restrict contaminants from entering the raceways, making this bearing suitable for protected, low-maintenance shaft arrangements. The C3 internal clearance is greater than normal clearance before mounting and can be beneficial where interference fits or temperature differences between the inner and outer rings reduce operating clearance. However, C3 is not automatically preferable for every application; the required clearance must follow the machine manufacturer's specification. The bearing uses a sheet metal cage and has a published limiting speed of 13,000rpm, subject to load, temperature and seal friction. When replacing a bearing, check both the 14mm width and the /C3 suffix. The normal-clearance 62202-2RS1 and narrower 6202-2RS1 are not identical replacements.
Typical Applications:
Compact electric motor bearing arrangements specified for C3 clearance
Industrial conveyor rollers with 14mm-wide bearing seats
Small mechanical transmission and pulley systems
Packaging and automated handling equipment
Enclosed machinery with interference-fitted bearing arrangements
