The SKF 619/7-2Z shielded miniature deep groove ball bearing is engineered for applications where a compact bearing envelope, low running friction and precise shaft guidance are important. With a 7mm bore, 17mm outside diameter and 5mm width, it provides a relatively thin radial cross-section compared with the larger 607 series. Its single row deep groove construction accommodates radial loads together with limited axial loads in either direction, making it suitable for small motors, instrument mechanisms and lightly loaded drive assemblies. SKF specifications list a basic dynamic load rating of 1.06kN and a basic static load rating of 0.375kN. These ratings should be considered when assessing bearing life and selecting a suitable replacement for miniature machinery.
The 2Z designation identifies two steel shields, one on each side of the bearing. Unlike rubber contact seals, these shields do not rub continuously against the inner ring, helping reduce friction and heat generation during higher-speed rotation. They retain the factory grease and offer protection against general airborne contamination, although they are less effective than contact seals against water, fine dust and direct contamination exposure. SKF lists a limiting speed of 45,000rpm for this configuration, subject to appropriate operating conditions. Normal (CN) radial internal clearance and a sheet steel cage complete the construction. During installation, verify the 5mm width, avoid excessive interference fits and apply mounting force only to the ring being fitted to protect the miniature raceways.
