The SKF 62305-2RS1 extra-wide sealed deep groove ball bearing is designed for rotating equipment requiring a 24mm-wide bearing on a 25mm shaft. Its distinctive axial profile separates it from the conventional 6305, which measures 25 x 62 x 17mm. Although the bore and outside diameter are identical, the additional 7mm affects the positioning of shaft shoulders, housing spacers and retaining components. The single row deep groove construction carries primarily radial loads while accommodating axial forces in either direction, within its rated limits. SKF specifications give a basic dynamic load rating of 22.5kN and a basic static load rating of 11.6kN. Engineers should use these values when assessing bearing life rather than assuming that the greater width automatically provides increased load capacity.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals protect both sides of the bearing, keeping factory-applied grease inside while restricting the entry of dust, dirt and moisture. This makes the bearing useful for enclosed conveyor mechanisms and industrial equipment where regular relubrication is inconvenient. SKF specifies a limiting speed of 7,500rpm, although continuous operating suitability depends on bearing load, temperature and contact seal friction.
