The SKF 6018-2RS1/C3 sealed deep groove ball bearing provides rotational support for large-diameter shafts where installation space, running clearance and contamination protection are important. Its 90mm bore, 140mm outside diameter and 24mm width provide a more compact radial arrangement than the 6218 series, which requires a 160mm housing diameter. The single row deep groove raceways accommodate predominantly radial loading together with axial forces in either direction, within the bearing's rated limits. Published SKF product specifications give a basic dynamic load rating of 60.5kN and a basic static load rating of 50kN. These ratings provide essential inputs for bearing-life calculations and equipment load assessments.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals retain factory-applied grease and restrict the entry of dust, moisture and other contaminants. The C3 radial internal clearance is greater than normal (CN) clearance, allowing for the reduction in internal clearance that can occur through interference fitting and operating temperature differences. It does not automatically make the bearing suitable for every high-temperature or high-speed application; the required operating clearance must be calculated for the installation. Published specifications list a limiting speed of 2,800rpm for the sealed configuration, with actual operating conditions also dependent on load, temperature and seal friction. The bearing incorporates a pressed steel cage. For replacement work, confirm the complete 6018-2RS1/C3 designation, as a standard-clearance 6018-2RS1 has identical boundary dimensions but different internal clearance.
Typical Applications:
Large industrial electric motor shaft assemblies
Industrial pumps with specified C3 bearing clearance
Mechanical power transmission and drive equipment
Industrial ventilation and fan shaft arrangements
Enclosed machinery with 90mm bearing journals
