The SKF 6020-2RS1/C3 sealed deep groove ball bearing provides reliable rotational support for substantial shafts where housing diameter and axial space must be carefully controlled. Its 100mm bore, 150mm outside diameter and 24mm width make it considerably slimmer than the corresponding 6220 series, which requires a 180mm outside diameter and 34mm width. The single row deep groove raceways accommodate predominantly radial loading together with axial forces in either direction, within the bearing's rated limits. SKF specifies a 63.7kN basic dynamic load rating and a 54kN basic static load rating. These values provide a basis for bearing life calculations and assessing loading conditions in industrial equipment.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals protect both sides of the bearing, retaining factory-applied grease and helping prevent dirt, dust and moisture reaching the rolling elements. SKF lists a 2,600rpm limiting speed for this contact-sealed version; actual continuous operating conditions also depend on load, temperature and lubrication performance. The C3 clearance is a defining feature of this designation, providing greater initial radial internal clearance than a normal-clearance 6020 bearing. It can help accommodate clearance reduction caused by interference fits and thermal expansion, but must be selected according to the machinery's operating conditions. SKF Explorer construction and a sheet metal cage complete the specification. For replacement work, confirm both the 2RS1 sealing suffix and the /C3 clearance suffix before installation.
