The SKF 619/6-2Z shielded miniature deep groove ball bearing is designed for precision rotating assemblies where a small radial envelope and low running friction are important. Its 6mm bore, 15mm outside diameter and 5mm width provide a compact mounting solution for miniature shafts and closely spaced mechanical components. The single row deep groove raceways accommodate predominantly radial loads together with limited axial forces in either direction, subject to the bearing's rated capacity. SKF specifications give a basic dynamic load rating of 0.884kN and a basic static load rating of 0.27kN. These ratings are particularly important in miniature equipment, where seemingly modest forces can influence bearing fatigue life. The 619/6 designation is also commonly associated with the dimensional reference 696.
The 2Z designation identifies a metal shield on each side of the bearing. These non-contact shields help retain the factory-applied grease and reduce the entry of dust and larger particles without the friction generated by rubbing rubber seals. They are therefore particularly suited to relatively clean, high-speed environments, but provide less protection against moisture and fine contamination than contact-sealed alternatives. SKF lists a reference speed of 100,000rpm and a limiting speed of 50,000rpm; these are catalogue selection values rather than guaranteed operating speeds under every load and temperature condition. The bearing features normal (CN) radial internal clearance, bearing-steel construction and a sheet metal cage. When replacing an existing bearing, verify the full 2Z designation, the required clearance and the 5mm width, and avoid transferring mounting loads through the rolling elements.
