The SKF 6200-2Z/C3 shielded deep groove ball bearing provides a practical combination of compact dimensions, high-speed capability and increased radial internal clearance. With a 10mm bore, 30mm outside diameter and 9mm width, it fits machinery designed around the standard 6200 bearing envelope. Its single row deep groove construction accommodates radial loads and axial loads in both directions within the bearing's operating limits. SKF specifications give a basic dynamic load rating of 5.4kN and a basic static load rating of 2.36kN, with a limiting speed of 28,000rpm. The C3 clearance allows more internal movement before installation than a normal-clearance 6200, helping compensate for clearance reduction caused by tight shaft fits and temperature differences between the bearing rings.
The 2Z designation identifies a non-contact steel shield on each side of the bearing. These shields help retain the factory-applied grease and restrict the entry of larger contaminants while allowing lower-friction rotation than contacting rubber seals. They are not intended to provide the same protection against water or fine contamination as a fully contact-sealed bearing. The pressed steel cage supports the rolling elements, and the bearing is supplied grease-lubricated for applications where regular relubrication is not planned. When replacing an existing bearing, distinguish 6200-2Z/C3 from both 6200-2Z, which has normal clearance, and 6200-2RS1/C3, which uses rubber contact seals. Correct shaft and housing fits remain essential for maintaining suitable operating clearance.
