The SKF 6305-2RS1/C3 sealed deep groove ball bearing provides robust rotational support where a 25mm shaft is exposed to significant radial loading and the installation requires greater-than-normal initial bearing clearance. Its 62mm outside diameter and 17mm width give it a larger cross-section than the corresponding 6205 series, making it an option for machinery designed around the heavier 6305 dimensions. The single row deep groove raceways accommodate radial loads together with axial forces in either direction, within the bearing's rated limits. SKF specifications give a basic dynamic load rating of 23.4kN and a basic static load rating of 11.6kN. These ratings are relevant when assessing expected bearing life, peak loading and equipment duty cycles.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals protect both sides of the bearing, retaining factory-applied grease and reducing the ingress of dust, moisture and dirt. SKF specifies a limiting speed of 7,500rpm, subject to operating temperature, applied loads and seal friction. The defining feature of this version is its C3 radial internal clearance, which is greater than the normal clearance of the standard SKF 6305-2RS1. This additional initial clearance can compensate for reductions caused by tight shaft fits or a hotter inner ring during operation. However, C3 is not automatically preferable for every application: excessive operating clearance can affect noise, vibration and load distribution. When replacing an existing bearing, confirm that the equipment manufacturer specifies C3 clearance and check the complete designation before installation.
Typical Applications:
Industrial electric motors requiring C3 clearance
Centrifugal pump shaft assemblies
Agricultural machinery and implement drives
Industrial fans and ventilation equipment
Gearboxes and mechanical power transmission systems
