Design and Construction
The SKF 6309/C3 features a single row of steel balls running between deep raceway grooves. A sheet metal cage separates and guides the rolling elements during rotation.
Its bearing steel construction provides effective load support under suitable operating conditions. With dimensions of 45x100x25mm, the bearing offers a substantial cross section for machinery requiring the standard 6309 size.
C3 Internal Clearance and Open Design
The bearing features C3 radial internal clearance, which is greater than normal clearance. This helps accommodate reductions in operating clearance caused by interference fits and temperature differences between the bearing rings.
Its open design without seals or shields allows grease or oil to reach the rolling elements directly. Appropriate external sealing may be necessary to prevent contamination and lubricant loss.
