The SKF 6216-2RS1 sealed deep groove ball bearing is designed for industrial shafts that require dependable rotational support without the larger housing dimensions associated with heavier bearing series. Its 62 series construction provides greater load capacity than the narrower 6016, while occupying less radial space than the 6316. The single row deep groove raceways accommodate predominantly radial loads and axial forces in either direction, subject to the application's operating requirements. SKF specifies a basic dynamic load rating of 72.8kN and a basic static load rating of 55kN. These ratings provide a foundation for checking fatigue life, static loading and bearing suitability under varying industrial operating conditions.
The 2RS1 rubber contact seals retain factory-applied grease and help prevent dust, dirt and moisture from entering the bearing. This is advantageous in enclosed pumps, motors and drive assemblies where regular lubrication access is restricted. SKF lists a limiting speed of 3,000rpm for the contact-sealed configuration; continuous operating speed should also account for temperature, load and seal friction. The bearing has normal radial internal clearance, which differs from the increased clearance of a 6216-2RS1/C3. It is also distinct from the 6216-2RS1/GJN, whose suffix specifies a particular polyurea grease formulation. For replacement work, confirm the required clearance, sealing and grease specification, and use suitable mounting methods to avoid transferring installation forces through the rolling elements.
Typical Applications:
Large industrial electric motor assemblies
Industrial pump and fluid circulation systems
Heavy-duty conveyor and material-handling drives
Large ventilation fans and extraction equipment
Industrial gearboxes and mechanical shaft supports
